Following a 2 day trip to Llangollen for a family wedding, 28 hours later I set off for a wild camp on Marsden Moor to try and capture some of Yorkshires finest landscapes.
Before we get to the images, here are a few essential pointers for you should you go for a wild camp yourself.
- £25 for a tent on Amazon might seem like a great idea, but it will most likely disintegrate while putting it up at 19.00 hours at 450 m above sea level.
- No matter what the weather is like during the day, be prepared for a new ice age at night.
- Baby wipes are your best friend.
- Get a fast boil kit. Hot chocolate in less than a minute is a comfort you don’t want to miss!
On this occasion I travelled light, meaning no tripod, no filter kit, my bag still weighed nearly 16 kg, and pulling that thing up to the peak was a tough work out. So editing has been done in Lightroom, including some grad filters to bring down exposure on the sky for example. I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed getting home.
